Invites all the devotees to join in the The Maha Kumbabishekam on 22nd of April 2018, the Kumbha is bathed with the charged and sanctified holy waters in the sacrificial pot and, by a mystic process, these pranic powers trickle down a silver wire and enter the deity installed inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

The deity, which was until then only a granite sculptured stone image, is believed to transform into a vibrant and vivid living representation of the deva with innate beatitude, grace and grandeur, conferring divine blessings on all devotees. Kumbhabhishekam is required to be performed every 12 years as per our sastras. This is to promote peace, harmony, spiritual and personal wellbeing of our congregation and the community at large.

This provides an opportunity for the devotees to actively participate with renewed dedication in the once-in-12 years religious ceremonies, and also to reaffirm their faith and connection to Sadguru Sainath of Shirdi.

We are fortunate to have many volunteers who contribute to the growth and wellbeing of our temple and we want to celebrate the legacy of SHIRDI SAI BABA and SHIDI SAI SANSTHAN MELBOURNE INC.. SSSM Inc. has had continued success with religious, cultural and educational programs.

Melbourne is blessed that we are also celebrating 100th year of Baba samadhi.

Shri Shirdi Sai Baba entered Maha Samadhi on 15th October 1918 (Tuesday) according to the English calendar. It was the day of Dussehra or Vijaydashami as per the Hindu calendar. Dussehra falls on the 30th September (Saturday) in 2017 and on 19th October (Friday) in the year 2018. It is observed that most of the temples and organizations, dedicated to Shri Sai Baba and Sai Movement are planning to celebrate the centenary year between the 30th of Sept 2017 (the day of Dussehra) and the 19th Oct 2018 (the day of Dussehra).

I take this opportunity to thank all founder members , past and present committee members, devotees, priest and the public who have given their time in propagating the teaching of Shirdi Baba  and supporting the Mandirs activities.
