The team recently organised a New Year BBQ event which had a very successful turnout. Please find below the press release for your next edition of the paper. We look forward to have you along to our future events.

South Asian Community Link Group New Year 2018 community BBQ was held on 1st Jan, 2018, at Coburg Lake Reserve. SACLG organises this program every year to wish our partners, community organisations and supporters happy New Year greetings and convey thanks to them for their continued support. The event was attended by  leaders and members from different community’s  organisations.

The event MC Saksham Katyal - Executive Member of SACLG, acknowledged the traditional owners of the land and on behalf of entire SACLG thanked all present at the BBQ. He further added that despite a New Year day, a lot of people attended SACLG event despite their busy family commitments, which shows the respect and support SACLG has from members of all the South Asian Communities.

In his welcome note, SACLG President Dr.Raju Adhikari wished everyone a very Happy New Year. He also highlighted the importance of innovative and collaborative thinking in future community projects to address real issues of migrant communities of South Asian Region. He shared SACLG achievements and project plans for 2018. He said that SACLG has made significant contributions in areas of Seniors, Youth & Women issues and need to stay focus in 2018.

Mr Bom Yonzon, former president NAV, congratulated entire team of SACLG & conveyed support from Nepalese community to all the future SACLG programs.

Other distinguished guests present were, Dr Deepak Pant, Former president NAV, Durga Acharya: Chair, BP Prathisthan; Ms Neelam and Manish Dhingra From No Hunger Charity; Hussain Hanif Multicultural Participation Co-ord, Cricket Australia; Anil Srivastava, Representative, Nepal Madeshi Community

Dr.Raju thanked the esteemed guests for their continued support to SACLG.

SACLG Patron - Deepak Vinayak JP, went around the park and distributed food to start the New Year with a message of compassion and love for other community members.

SACLG Secretary - Angpal Singh concluded the event by acknowledging the team of hardworking volunteers of SACLG that make these events possible.
